LEAGUE FORMAT
- Cornhole consists of frames. Each team rotates throwing their bags until all bags are thrown to the other side, at which point, the frame is complete. Each frame consists of calculating the difference of all the bags on the boards and in the hole at the end of the frame per team. The net points are kept track of from each frame. Example: Team A scores 8 points in frame 1 and Team B scores 2 points in frame 1. This would mean that Team A would receive 6 points for that frame and would also be the team to throw first in the next frame. The object is to be the first team to reach 21 points by either throwing the bag onto the board (1 point) or in the hole (3 points). Board will be placed approximately 27 feet (front to front) from each other. This distance is placed out by the league manager. Cornhole boards and bags will be provided. Each court consists of 2 boards and 8 bags.
- Teams will compete during regular season and the top teams will advance to the playoffs. Each match is best two (2) out of three (3). The number of teams that advance to the playoffs will be determined by the total number of teams in the league.
BEGINNING OF THE GAME
Begin the game with a coin flip or play rock, paper, scissors between the two captains. The winner determines which side they would like to play on or first throw. The opponent will get the other option and then have first choice in the second game. In the playoffs, the lower seeded team has those privileges. Players may not cross the foul line, which is located at the front of the board. All players must throw from behind this line.TEAM SIZE
- A minimum of 2 players per team must be present to play each week. We require signing up a team minimum of 3 players per team to make sure enough people show up each week. There are also no gender requirement rules in cornhole. While 3 players is the minimum, you may have as many players on the team as you choose. You can always sub people in each night too! Substitutions can happen after a frame. If a player arrives during play, they may only join their team after a frame.
- All players must wear a SPORTSKIND league shirt or a SPORTSKIND Championship shirt.
- 2 points will be awarded to the opponent for each player checked in without a SPORTSKIND shirt in the first game.
SUBSTITUTIONS
There is no limit on the amount of substitutions per team and can be done after the completion of each frame. During the course of the regular season teams are allowed to “pick up” players that are not on their roster in order to field the minimum of 2 players. They must also be from within the league and have a league shirt in order to play.LENGTH OF GAMES
A regulation match lasts 40 minutes from the designated start time or until one team reaches 21 points in each game. Games are played "straight up" to 21 points; a team does not need to win by 2 or more points. A team does not need to score exactly 21 points and can go over 21. Each match will be played to the best out of three games against your scheduled opponent.PLAYOFFS
The playoffs will take place in the 6th and final week. The number of teams competing in the playoffs will be determined by the total number of teams in the league and will consist of a single elimination tournament. No substitutes will be allowed during playoffs and all players must have already played in at least one regular season game and are on the league roster/waiver.WAIVERS
In order to participate in the league, each participant must register online and sign the team waiver. Players must sign the waiver in order to be eligible for playoffs.PLAYOFFS ELIGIBILITY
Players who have been placed on the roster and signed the waiver are eligible for the regular season and playoffs. Any player protests in the playoffs must be done before a game.FORFEIT POLICY
- If your team forfeits a game during the season, the following rules apply:
- First Offense: Loss of game. Score marked: 2-0.
- Second Offense: Loss of game and lost ability to make playoffs.
- Third Offense: Removal from the league.
- If you know in advance that your team is going to forfeit a game, we encourage you to contact us so we can inform your opponent. Since each team will play 2 games a night if you end up missing one week you are immediately ineligible for playoffs so please do your best to have enough players to avoid any forfeits.
- Teams have until five minutes past the designated start time to field a full squad (or the league minimum of players required according to rules). If at that time a team is unable to field a legal team, they forfeit the game. The teams may utilize the playing field during their allotted time to play an unofficial game. The official score will be marked as a loss with the respective forfeit score.

Any rules not covered or protests will be handled by the SPORTSKIND staff.
