We use three skill levels to organize leagues:
1. Advanced: Expert skills and athleticism with extensive experience playing in organized leagues.

2. Intermediate: Solid skills and athleticism with some experience playing in organized leagues

3. Rec: Developing skills and athleticism, new to playing in organized leagues

Yes, the champions get prizes! The winning team may receive a league trophy/medals/swag bag/sponsor gifts, along with championship shirts for select leagues and tournaments.

We partner with a bar that is close to the location of your games and our sponsor bar will offer an SPORTSKIND discount and welcome players to have a great post-game or happy hour and festive night of sports, food, drink and community.

11. How old do you have to be to participate?

All players must be 21 years or older in order to participate in our leagues and tournaments.

12. I don’t know anyone, how can I get on team? Can I sign up as an individual?

Yes!  You can join as a “Free Agent” when registering.  We will team you up with other free agents.

13. Can I sign up with a friend(s) and be placed on the same team?

Of course! Just let us know when you register (there’s a place for teammate requests) and we will keep your crew together.

14. Can my company sign up?

Definitely! We have many company teams that participate. Send us a message if there’s anything we can do to help get your company team in the game: dallas@sportskind.com

15. When is my team fee due?

Payment due dates vary from league to league and are listed on each league/tournament/event page. For most of our leagues you are able to make an initial deposit to secure your team’s spot. In general, full payment is due a week before your team’s first game. All Free Agent registrations require full payment at registration.

16. Do you offer refunds?

Yes. To be eligible for a refund you must request the refund at least 14 days prior to the start of your league or event.  All refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee. Any exceptions to this policy will be listed on individual league/tournament/event pages.

17. Can I get an invoice to get my company to pay for some or all of my participation?

Absolutely! – Invoices and receipts can be provided, just let us know.

18. When will the League schedule be posted?

The schedule for the season will be posted the week before your season starts. Team Captains & Free Agents will receive an email letting them know the schedule is posted.

19. Can I request all early or late games?

Scheduling requests can be made at the time of registration and up to the release of the schedule for that particular season.  We will honor requests to the best of our ability. Once the schedules have been released SPORTSKIND will not be able to accommodate schedule changes.

20. Where can I find rules for the league?

Comprehensive rules can be found on each league/tournament/event page.

21. Do we have to officiate our own games?

No! SPORTSKIND Sports leagues include trained and knowledgeable officials.

22. What do we do if our team is not able to make it to a game?

If you know in advance that your team will not be able to make it to a game, please let us know as soon as possible so we have enough time to let your opponent and the official know. We make every effort to schedule a friendly match for teams facing a forfeit. Also, note the section on Forfeits below outlining the penalties for any cancellations.

23. Can we add players to our roster during the season?

Yes, teams can add players to rosters as long as they register, sign the waiver and pay the registration fee.  You will have to notify us so we can re-open the registration if you choose to do so.  Teams may also “pick up” players from within the league per the league’s substitution rules. All players, including added players or substitutes are required to wear a league shirt in order to play; substitute players without a league shirt may be subject to penalties per the rules of the league. No substitute players are allowed during playoffs – all players must be registered on a team’s official roster and have participated in at least one regular season game to be eligible for playoffs. No ringers!

24. Is there a dress code/can we wear our own uniforms?

All players receive a team shirt, which should be worn during the game. We do realize that sometimes shirts get lost or are still in the laundry; however, each league has penalties that will be assessed for any players not in their league shirt.  In our sand volleyball league players must have their shirt and wear it for 2 points after which point they can switch into “Beach wear.” However if they don’t have their shirts penalties will be accessed. The only case where we don’t require wearing an SPORTSKIND shirt is in our all day tournaments. See each leagues rules page for specific uniform requirements/penalties.

25. How are standings determined?

League standings are calculated by overall team record followed by head to head matchups.  If teams haven’t played one another or there is a 3 way tie without a clear head-to-head winner we’ll use point differential.  In volleyball this is also the case but we’ll use set differential first and then point differential if needed.

26. What do we do if there is inclement weather?

In the event that a scheduled game needs to be postponed due to weather, field conditions or any other reason we will email and/or text all players as soon as possible. We will also post a notification on our Facebook page.

27. What is the policy if games are cancelled due to inclement weather or a maintenance issue?

For games that need to be rescheduled, we will move those games to the end of the season, push the season back one week, or look to incorporate those games into another league night in the form of a double header.  The decision will be made based on field availability and scheduling.  Team captains will be notified of the update via email no later than 48 hours after cancellation.

28. Does SPORTSKIND host corporate events, like field days, summer picnics and wellness programs?

Yes, we do!  Why spend your time and resources organizing a company volleyball tournament or an industry kickball league or a boot camp and happy hour, when we’ve already got everything you need.  We work with you to customize an event and ensure that it meets your needs and company goals.

29. Do you work with brands looking to promote their products and services?

Yes, products and services have been introduced to SPORTSKIND members through various marketing campaigns. SPORTSKIND chooses to market these products or services to our members to add value  and benefits to our members. The exclusive businesses chosen to partner with or sponsor SPORTSKIND recognize and understand our high expectations of great customer service and experience.

30. Can I dispute a call made during the League game?

Any calls made by an official that are contested on the field/court may only be done so by the captain. No other player may enter into a dispute with an official.  Players must handle themselves respectfully and maturely.  The official will have the final determination on all disputed matters. ALL DECISIONS OF THE LEAGUE STAFF ARE FINAL.  If you have an issue with an official or a decision, you can contact us at dallas@sportskind.com.

31. What is your policy on sportsmanship?

All participants in SPORTSKIND leagues and events are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times. We enforce a “Zero Tolerance Policy” for abusive behavior. Any verbal or physical abuse towards referees, staff, participants or spectators will not be tolerated. Doing so will result in ejection from the facility and possible suspension. This goes for all players, coaches, and spectators before, during, or after a program or game. SPORTSKIND encourages fair play, friendly competition and the opportunity for all to enjoy our events without fear of harassment or physical harm. SUSPENSIONS, PROBATION, or EJECTION: SPORTSKIND reserves the right to impose disciplinary actions against any individual or group who circumvents the rules of player conduct and/or the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship. Disciplinary actions could include, but are not limited to the following: Individual game suspensions, multiple game suspensions, season long suspensions, probation, or permanent expulsion from all SPORTSKIND activities. FIGHTING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.  ANY INSTANCES OF FIGHTING WILL RESULT IN A TEAM FORFEIT OF THE LEAGUE WITHOUT REFUND. ALL DECISIONS OF THE LEAGUE STAFF ARE FINAL.  THE LEAGUE STAFF SHALL ALSO HAVE THE FINAL AUTHORITY TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO GAME SCHEDULES, GAME DURATION, AND OTHER ASPECTS OF THE RULES AND THE LEAGUE.

32. What is the policy on forfeits?

Teams have until ten minutes past the designated start time to field a full squad (or the league minimum of players required by the rules).  If at that time a team is unable to field a team, they forfeit the game.  Scheduled teams may utilize the playing field during their allotted time to play an unofficiated game. The official score will be marked as a loss with the respective forfeit score. If your team forfeits a game during the season, the following rules apply: First Offense: Loss of game and score penalty Second Offense: Loss of game and ability to make playoffs Third Offense: Removal from the league. SPORTSKIND reserves the right to change the forfeit policy without notice at any time.

33. How do I join the SPORTSKIND team?

We are always interested in great people! If you are interested in joining our team as a sport official or event coordinator, please go here to fill out an application.
